Privacy: calculations, contact messages and verification
You can read this site without an account. With JavaScript enabled, calculator inputs stay in your browser; when JavaScript is unavailable, the form sends them to the site’s server for calculation. Contact messages and the contact form’s bot check involve separate processing.
Calculator inputs and results
Browser calculations run locally. The server fallback receives the form values, returns a result and does not save the values in an application database. Its result response is marked private and no-store.
Calculator values are not part of contact messages unless you choose to include them.
Hosting infrastructure also processes request information to serve pages and protect the service. That can include network information, requested addresses, time and browser information. A result page’s no-store setting does not mean that no request information reaches the hosting provider.
Contact messages
The contact form requests your name, reply email, topic and message. Submitted information is used to handle the message and reply. The form sends a message through the site’s email service rather than writing it to a message database.
Include only information needed for the question or correction. Do not send passwords, payment information or unnecessary personal information. A correction is easier to assess when it includes the page address, disputed figure and supporting public source.
Cloudflare Turnstile
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for bot verification. Cloudflare processes verification signals under its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. This is separate from the message you type.
Cloudflare’s Turnstile documentation describes its verification and related privacy information. Hosting and security services can process information necessary to deliver and protect the site; do not interpret this page as a claim that those services receive no visitor information.
External documents and privacy requests
Following a source link opens another publisher’s site, whose privacy practices apply there. This reference site does not control those external services.
Use the contact form for a question about information you submitted or to request access, correction or deletion as applicable. Identify the message or information involved without sending extra sensitive details. See the terms of use for the scope of the reference and calculator material.
Choose what to include in a message
A page address and a supporting public document can identify a reference issue without a copy of private records. If you choose to include calculator inputs in a contact message, those values become part of the message sent through the form, even though an ordinary browser calculation processes its inputs locally. Review the message before sending it.
For a follow-up about information already submitted, identify the relevant message and reply address. Do not add passwords or unrelated personal documents to establish that context. Information on an external publisher's page is subject to that publisher's practices, separately from the calculator or contact form here.
