History and service record of 325B LN and 325C LN
- Where the 325 line came from. A collector's history on Minimovers says the first Cat 325 hydraulic excavator arrived in 1991 to replace the 225D with a 3116 turbo diesel of 168 flywheel horsepower and a 2.5 yd3 bucket, then became the 325B, 325C and 325D, the 325D was renumbered the 329D in 2009, and the 325F followed in 2015. - Bogging under load on a 1997 325BL. A 2016 Heavy Equipment Forums thread started by the owner of a 1997 325BL says it cranks and runs great but bogs and blows black smoke when using stick and bucket or turning the tracks, with travel speed stuck on slow, though it will still lift 12,000 lb pumps. - Hydraulic cylinder that fought itself. A Yesterday's Tractors thread has an owner of a 325B-class Cat with a little over 3,000 hours describing a hydraulic cylinder that behaved as if its two ends fought each other in cold weather; replies suggested a sticking poppet valve, air in the system, or ice in the pilot circuit, and one said his B model had been trouble free while the newer C had several small issues.
