John Deere 5080R to 5115R specifications

R-series generation, shifting controls and hydraulic dependencies

The earlier 5080R, 5090R and 5100R brochure describes PowrQuad Plus and AutoQuad Plus. The later North American 5115R ordering sheet instead names CommandQuad Manual and Command8. Choose by the transmission and hydraulic installation, not by assuming that every tractor carrying an R badge has the same controls.

The earlier 5R brochure distinguishes automatic shifts from speed matching

In the original 5-Series publication, both earlier 5R transmission choices have a de-clutch button, SoftShift and SpeedMatching. AutoQuad Plus adds automatic gear changes with adjustable shift points. A shift button or a speed-matching response alone therefore does not identify AutoQuad.

Look for the automatic-shift setting as well.

The brochure also gives a low-profile arrangement for that earlier cab. It retains the same cab but introduces a transmission tunnel. That distinction matters when checking the floor and entry: a low overall height does not necessarily mean the cab itself was shortened.

Its common-rail PowerTech E description belongs to those earlier R models. The engine and transmission columns below retain the later machines separately; their repeated model names should not be read as proof of identical emission equipment or shifting hardware.

The later 5115R specification ties CommandARM to the hydraulic package

Deere's 2018 US/Canada ordering document makes open-center hydraulics the base 5115R arrangement. CommandARM requires PFC hydraulics and electrohydraulic rear selective control valves. Mechanical rear valves instead belong with right-hand console controls.

Check both the armrest and valve controls when identifying a used tractor's package.

The same document requires PFC for CommandQuad Manual with creeper and for Command8. Those transmission choices therefore have a hydraulic dependency; they are not independent boxes to tick on an otherwise unchanged base tractor.

A loader-ready package is another distinct item. The mechanical three-function version includes mounting frames, a hood guard and the tractor half of the multi-coupler with hoses. It requires the matching mid-valve selection.

Those fittings establish preparation for the specified loader, not that the loader, bucket and attachment functions are included in a sale.

These are historical ordering conditions. Inspect the installed components before relying on an old equipment description; a different market or later modification needs its own documentation.
