Doosan DX300LL: highwalker, cab folding and lift chart

The DL08 log loader and its raised undercarriage

The original DX300LL uses Doosan's DL08 six-cylinder common-rail engine. It belongs to the earlier log-loader generation; the later DX300LL-5 is a separate specification. Doosan's PBP D300C0LL 0703 brochure gives different gross and net outputs under named SAE standards.

A dealer page that calls the gross figure net has not changed the engine's tested flywheel output. Match the rating standard before comparing fuel use or hydraulic demand.

The forestry chassis has a D-type frame and a raised lower structure. Double-grouser shoes, roller protection and the integrated spring-and-idler arrangement belong to the loader's working configuration. Ground pressure changes with shoe width, and the brochure's standard operating weight excludes a grapple.

Adding a grapple changes the lifted equipment as well as the transport load. The quoted weight is not a ready-made allowance for an unidentified attachment.

Cab folding and the meaning of the lift figure

Doosan draws the cab in both working and folded transport positions. The overall-height dimension is therefore different from the transport-height dimension with the attachment. Its track drawing likewise distinguishes full track length from tumbler distance.

Using the former as ground-contact length gives a misleading footprint.

The original front-lift entry needs its missing coordinate: the imperial chart places that load at ground level and a fifteen-foot radius. At that same point the side rating is lower. The chart specifies boom, arm, shoe width and no grapple, and marks hydraulically limited cells with an asterisk.

Its notes cap ratings by both hydraulic and tipping capacity. That single front value cannot be used as a side-lift rating or extended to the end of the working envelope. Read the cell for the actual radius and height with the installed lifting equipment accounted for.

Two power modes are separate from working modes

The dated brochure offers Standard and Power engine settings, alongside Digging and Trenching working modes. Trenching gives swing priority. Those controls do different jobs.

The e-EPOS controller exchanges information with the engine ECU over CAN, while auxiliary flow can be set for the fitted tool. The pilot gear pump is separate from the paired variable-displacement main pumps; its output is not extra main-circuit flow to promise a grapple.

Maintenance diagnosis can use the DMS connection to inspect and save pump-pressure and engine-speed information. That is more useful than guessing an engine fault from slow tool motion alone. The fuel pre-filter includes a water separator, and the engine's cooling packages are accessible for cleaning.

A blocked cooler, contaminated fuel and a chosen low-power setting call for different checks, even when the operator first describes all three as poor performance.
