Fendt IDEAL 7, IDEAL 8, and IDEAL 9: combine harvester
History and service record of IDEAL 7, IDEAL 8, and IDEAL 9
- Dual Helix processor. Fendt's IDEAL brochure describes a 16-foot-long dual rotor Dual Helix processor that handles crop more gently at slower rotor speeds to cut fuel consumption, and the zieglercat copy adds that it needs 50 percent less power to operate than other systems. Fendt IDEAL axial combine brochure, Fendt.
- Grain tank and unloading. The IDEAL has a 485 bushel grain tank that unloads at six bushels per second, which Fendt calls the industry's largest tank and class-leading unloading speed. Fendt IDEAL axial combine brochure, Fendt.
- IDEALharvest self-adjustment. IDEALharvest uses a grain-quality camera and sensors including mass acoustic detection sensors to tell grain from material other than grain, and adjusts combine settings to keep the preferences the operator sets on a selection triangle for grain damage, grain loss and MOG in the sample. IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
- AirSense and power transmission. AirSense keeps the engine at optimal temperature so manually blowing out the radiator is a thing of the past, and Fendt says simple gearboxes with fewer belts than other combines make the power transfer efficient. IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
- IDEAL 10 and joystick steering. The brochure covers Class 7, 8, 9 and 10 machines, says the IDEAL 10 has 779 horsepower, and describes an optional IDEALdrive joystick steering system steered with the left hand while the right hand runs the drive. Fendt IDEAL axial combine brochure, Fendt.
- One rotor or two. The brochure says the Class 8 and 9 IDEAL models use two 24-inch, 16-foot rotors in a Dual Helix configuration with a 43.7 square foot threshing area and 6,293 square inches of total separation area, while the Class 7 runs one rotor. IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
- Narrow frame on tracks. The IDEAL's chassis is the slimmest offered in North America at just under 11 feet, paired with a large tire or fully suspended TrakRide track footprint and road speeds up to 25 mph (40 km/h). IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
- Vision cab. The Vision cab has almost 62 square feet of glass for a panoramic view from header to spreader, a leather operator's seat, high-performance air conditioning, LED lighting and a dashboard of key machine data. IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
- Remote monitoring. Throughput can be managed from crop density and other factors, and operations can be monitored and adjusted remotely through the SmartConnect app, with the harvest strategy set on a touch-screen tablet. IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
- Grain pans. Two specially molded grain pans collect crop from the threshing and separation area and deliver it to the cleaning shoe regardless of crop or harvest conditions. IDEAL, the new axial combine from AGCO, brochure.
