Hitachi LX and ZW loaders: model specifications and control choices
LX listings and the controls on a later ZW310
A Hitachi loader listing needs more than the LX or ZW name. The ZW310-5A brochure provides a useful example of why the suffix matters; its equipment should not be assumed on the earlier ZW-310 reference in this directory.
Two switches can request extra engine power on the 5A. The lever's Quick Power Switch supplies a temporary increase and returns to standard mode after a direction change or reduced travel load. The separate power-mode switch keeps that selection until engine shutdown.
Different behavior during a demonstration can therefore come from the chosen switch, without proving an engine fault.
The transmission choices differ too. AUTO1 includes first gear; AUTO2 starts its automatic selection at second. Clutch cut-off has Flat, Slope and OFF settings.
Check those selections when comparing loading behavior instead of treating every pause in drive as the same symptom.
High lift changes more than clearance. Hitachi's standard-arm and high-lift tables assign different tipping loads even to equal-capacity buckets. Record the arm, bucket edge and tires with the load figure.
Optional air seating, reversing cooling fan and lift-arm leveling also need confirmation on the actual loader; the brochure's photographs are not an equipment inventory.
