- What the Dash-6 Foresters changed. Hitachi's brochure for the ZX310F-6 and ZX370F-6 Dash-6 Foresters, offered as forestry excavators or log loaders, describes Final Tier 4 / EU Stage IV Isuzu engines with no diesel particulate filter, two newly designed operator stations with more legroom and new ergonomic controls, a simplified electrical system, a more robust cooling system and Power, Economy and High-productivity modes. - Forester versions. Hitachi's Foresters brochure says the ZX310F-6 and ZX370F-6 come as forestry excavators or log loaders, use Isuzu Final Tier 4 / Stage IV engines without a diesel particulate filter, and can be ordered with factory-installed Waratah processor heads. - Fewer electrical parts. Hitachi says the Foresters' simplified electrical system has 35 percent fewer components, which it ties to better reliability, and large integrated fuel tanks keep the machines running longer between fill-ups. Forester weight depends on the loader, processor and cab arrangement
The Hitachi ZX310F-6/ZX370F-6 forester brochure separates Road Builder, Processor and Log Loader configurations. It lists side-entry and raised rear-entry cab arrangements, counterweight choices and different undercarriages. A second weight beside the same ZX310F-6 name can therefore represent fitted equipment rather than a second engine or a larger basic model.
The ZX370F-6’s longer-track options have their own dimensional and lifting context. The brochure’s lifting improvement is conditional on configuration, not an increase to apply to every used ZX370F-6. For a haulage or lifting comparison, establish the actual track frame, shoes, counterweight, boom and cab arrangement together.
Its reversing cooling fan is another forestry feature to identify during inspection; it is not evidence that all hydraulic-temperature complaints have the same cause. These forester arrangements should not inherit the dimensions of a similarly numbered general excavator.
