Komatsu PC100-6 to PC130-6 Mighty: regional fronts, lift charts and monitor functions

The European PC130-6 has its own engine and equipment specification

Komatsu's European PC130-6 brochure identifies the S4D102E engine with a mechanical all-speed governor. Its power table separates SAE horsepower from DIN metric horsepower. The different horsepower labels do not identify two engines: they accompany the same kilowatt rating and running speed in that publication.

The document also names its regional scope on the cover and equipment pages. The PC100/120/130 family has separate operation-manual editions with their own serial applicability. Keep the European brochure's engine, front and equipment together when assessing that version; a PC130-6 Mighty listing alone does not establish that the used machine has the entire European arrangement.

Longer reach changes the allowed bucket combination

The European front tables separate three arm lengths. Their bucket chart is based on over-side stability at maximum reach with a loaded bucket, and its approval symbols distinguish material densities. A wide bucket that is acceptable on the short arm is not automatically approved with the longest arm.

The chart expressly marks an unavailable combination.

The brochure has an internal qualification to resolve: its operating-weight note pairs a 0.68m³ bucket with a 2900mm arm, while the bucket-combination chart marks that largest bucket unavailable on the longest arm. Keep the published weight note separate from attachment approval. Obtain the applicable machine and bucket documentation before adopting that combination.

Transport dimensions are arm dependent too. The drawing separates the basic machine's length from the complete front's folded position and gives another width for the upperstructure including mirrors and handrail. Neither bare-house width nor track gauge describes every protrusion that matters when passing an obstruction.

Component handling requires a different table again. Komatsu lists the basic machine, boom with arm cylinder, and arm with bucket cylinder and linkage separately. Those are not ready-to-work excavator weights.

Retain the table's component boundary when planning disassembly or transport.

Mighty and UK-source lift charts use different equipment

Komatsu's Application Handbook labels the PC130-6 Mighty separately from the UK-source PC130-6. Its Mighty lift-chart conditions specify a 4600mm boom, 2500mm arm, 0.50m³ bucket and 500mm shoes. The European brochure's charts instead name 700mm shoes and a 422kg bucket.

A capacity from one of those charts cannot be carried across merely because both machines say PC130-6. Match the front, bucket and undercarriage conditions before using a lifting figure.

The clock display also carries diagnostic information

The PC130-6 monitor uses its clock area to show service information. The brochure distinguishes serious faults that warn immediately from lesser problems retained in memory, including intermittent faults that may no longer be present during inspection. It also describes displaying current operating measurements such as engine speed and pump pressure.

A stored event and a live reading answer different diagnostic questions.

Its controls distinguish Active mode, Power Max and their combined setting. Active changes equipment speed under load; Power Max supplies a temporary digging-force increase. The combined function brings those effects together.

Record which setting is in use before comparing a machine's digging response with another demonstration.

Auto deceleration is separate. It reduces engine speed after the wrist controls remain neutral, so a fall in speed after work stops can be a selected operating function. The brochure also lists an additional hydraulic circuit and an arm-cylinder safety valve among equipment choices.

A mode-selection button does not establish that optional attachment plumbing has been installed.
