History and service record of ML40
- Where Manitou comes from. Manitou started in France in 1957 when Marcel Braud designed the first forklift for rough terrain; the company formed Manitou UK in 1971, Manitou Italia in 1985, Manitou Australia in 2004 and passed €1 billion in revenue in 2007. Manitou Group, Wikipedia.
- Articulated loaders since. In July 2022 Manitou and Gehl launched six new compact articulated wheel loaders each, from 1,534 to 3,307 lb capacity with 25 or 48 hp engines, to join 10 larger articulated loaders from 60 to 143 hp; the range was due in North America in the second half of 2023.
