4820R and 4820H use different ways to select travel speed

TYM identifies 4820R as the Synchromesh arrangement and 4820H as HST. Its specification table describes discrete forward and reverse speeds for the former and ranges for the latter. A four-range hydrostatic tractor is not a manual tractor with only four individual speeds; the pedal varies travel within the selected range.

The same product table distinguishes open-station 4820 from cab-labelled 4820C and 4820CH. Keep the cab and transmission suffixes together when comparing a seller's machine with the historical weight, electrical and cooling entries. A cab illustration does not establish the equipment on an open-station version.

TYM's North American page names the naturally aspirated T2300N2 engine for 4820, while the neighbouring 5520 column names a turbocharged family member. The shared Series 4 layout is not a reason to describe the 4820 as turbocharged or to transfer the larger tractor's output.

The hitch lowering control is different from hydraulic pump flow

The operator manual whose preface covers the 4820 variants identifies the flow-control valve as the implement's lowering-speed adjustment. Turning it fully to the right closes the relevant hydraulic passage. An attachment that fails to lower therefore calls for identifying that setting before attributing the symptom to a failed pump.

The manual separately explains the differential-lock pedal, which connects rear-wheel drive when one wheel is slipping. It requires releasing the lock for a turn and prohibits using it while driving on a road. That control should not be confused with a travel-range change or four-wheel-drive selection.

Compare hitch capacity at the same point and confirm the PTO installation

The retained specification bank distinguishes lift at the link ends from lift behind the hitch. Those are different leverage conditions. A headline carrying the larger capacity does not establish the mass an implement can carry farther behind the tractor, and neither rear-hitch figure describes loader capacity.

The current regional manufacturer page lists a rear PTO speed pair, while this historical comparison retains its earlier rear-shaft entry. Match the controls and applicable operator manual to the actual tractor before using a different PTO setting. TYM expressly qualifies features by region; a shared model name does not certify every offered configuration.

For an advertised loader-and-backhoe package, keep the original bare-tractor mass separate from installed attachments. The existing ROPS/cab weights and tyre dimensions remain available for that comparison, alongside all previous fluid capacities and engine records.
