Volvo L60G, L70F and L110F: engine editions, shifting and brake controls

L60G Tier 4 Interim is different from the older D6E specification

The April 2012 L60G/L70G/L90G booklet identifies a D6H engine for the Tier4 Interim/StageIIIB configuration. It describes cooled exhaust-gas recirculation and an actively regenerating particulate filter with an oxidation-catalyst function. That arrangement must stay separate from a reference entry naming D6E.

An earlier F-series engine description cannot establish the G-series emissions equipment.

The G-series eco pedal applies mechanical resistance to discourage excessive accelerator movement. It is not the particulate filter's regeneration control. Fully Automatic Power Shift is another system, selecting the travel gear.

A report about pedal feel, shifting or regeneration should identify which behavior changed.

Volvo describes the Torque Parallel loader geometry and load-sensing hydraulic supply together, but they do different jobs. The linkage controls the attachment's movement through the lift; the hydraulic system supplies demanded flow. Neither feature establishes that a used attachment bracket or its locking components remain serviceable.

L70F APS and its cooling fan are separate controls

The F-series booklet identifies D6E engines and describes Automatic Power Shift using machine speed and engine speed. The transmission's electrohydraulic selector provides modulated gear engagement. The hydrostatically driven cooling fan is a different component, controlled according to cooling demand.

The word “hydrostatic” in the fan description does not turn the HTE transmission into an HST travel drive.

The L70F specification separates bucket capacities and tipping figures by the bucket, front arrangement and tires. Torque Parallel geometry helps with different attachments, but a bucket rating is not a pallet-fork payload. Keep the fork's load center and attachment table with a handling-capacity claim.

L110F Contronic distinguishes brake and transmission warnings

The L110F/L120F publication identifies HTE204 for the L110F. Its service brakes use a dual hydraulic circuit and accumulators, while a spring-applied parking brake sits in the transmission. Automatic declutch during braking is selectable through Contronic.

A brake-related loss of drive therefore needs its selected declutch behavior recorded.

Contronic lists low brake pressure, brake-charging failure and low transmission-oil pressure as distinct warnings. Capture the exact message before grouping them as one hydraulic fault. The equipment list also separates brake wear indicators from the electronic brake-test function; one does not replace the other.

The rear-axle oscillation figure is stated for each direction. A one-sided angle and the full travel between stops are different quantities. The same publication limits top gear electronically and attaches a tire condition to its speed table.
