CASE 580C shuttle, bucket and backhoe configurations
The 580C engine rating depends on the shuttle
CASE's original brochure separates the dry-clutch mechanical shuttle from the power-shuttle tractor. They have different engine ratings despite sharing the G207D designation. The mechanical transmission has a separate range selection; the optional torque-converter arrangement uses hydraulic reversing clutches.
Identify the fitted transmission before comparing horsepower or buying clutch components.
Bucket choice changes the loader's useful dimensions. The short-lip, long-lip and four-in-one schedules have different dump clearances and attachment weights. The clam bucket also needs its additional control.
A reach measured at the loader bucket must not be confused with the backhoe's digging radius from the swing pivot.
The standard backhoe and telescopic Extendahoe have separate shipping-weight schedules. Those entries exclude buckets. CASE also lists the front counterweight separately, so a bucketless shipping figure cannot establish the complete transported load.
Backhoe control choices include foot swing and optional hand swing. The stabilizer valve is listed separately with pilot check valves. Identify those controls on the actual machine before comparing a replacement valve assembly.

The original 580C parts book separates the short engine block assembly from the stripped casting. The short assembly includes internal components that the bare casting does not. Its cylinder-head section also directs engines with an aluminum intake manifold to a separate instruction card.
A visually similar head offered for sale therefore needs more identification than “fits a 580C.”
The valve-mechanism illustration distinguishes intake and exhaust service kits. Some individual pieces are marked as unavailable separately and refer the reader to the applicable kit. Ordering the illustration's reference number as though it were a replacement part number would miss that distinction.
Compare the description and indentation of the assembly contents before agreeing to the parts list.
The hydraulic index separately locates steering, loader/backhoe supply, stabilizer control and power-shuttle components. It also distinguishes manual-shuttle and power-shuttle transmission groups. That organization helps describe a leak accurately: a steering-pump repair is a different request from a loader-pump repair.
Record the machine and engine identifiers with the component that needs attention.
