Cat 140 GC specifications

Match the 140 GC's emissions package, drive and circle equipment

The 140 GC is offered with different emissions and drive configurations. Its name alone does not select an engine-power row, equipped weight or circle-drive refill. Use the machine's emissions label and installed equipment to choose the corresponding specification before comparing it with another grader or ordering service supplies.

The U.S. Tier 4/Stage V listing and export sheets cover different conditions

Cat's U.S. product listing identifies a Tier 4 Final/Stage V machine. It also lists all-wheel drive as an option and separates its weight rows by emissions package. A quoted weight from one row therefore should not be assigned to every AWD 140 GC.

The same page distinguishes the optional circle-drive slip clutch from Circle Saver. The clutch protects the drive when the blade meets an immovable obstruction; Circle Saver addresses circle-and-pinion upkeep. Inspect what is installed before assuming a grader has both features.

Its steering-wheel and lever controls also distinguish this GC arrangement from a joystick-equipped 140.

Variable horsepower needs a gear and an emissions standard beside it

The AEXQ3922-00 export sheet gives a gear-by-gear VHP schedule instead of one constant output for every travel gear. Its table steps through lower and higher power settings as the selected gear changes. Compare the relevant row, not a base figure from one brochure against a maximum from another.

That edition also distinguishes the Tier 3/Stage IIIA torque rating from its India CEV Stage V rating. The emissions descriptions are different approvals; the words Stage V in an Indian specification do not identify the U.S. machine's entire engine package. Read the document heading and the machine label together.

Use the equipped-weight and refill notes during preparation

The earlier AEXQ2498-01 sheet defines its base machine with an open canopy and a specified tyre arrangement. Its typically equipped examples add different front and rear equipment. A push block, front blade or ripper changes the configuration being weighed; the base line cannot substitute for the actual transport arrangement.

The circle-drive capacity also changes with the slip-clutch arrangement. Establish which drive is fitted before selecting the refill quantity. The sheet separately describes the implement hydraulic circuit and the transmission's hydraulic supply: a pressure or flow value from one system is not a test specification for the other.
