Identify which 973C engine edition fitted to the machine

The older AEHQ5369 publication identifies a 3306-powered 973C. The later AEHQ5678-03 identifies a C9 with ACERT technology. Those are manufacturer-documented editions under the same C suffix. A 973C advertisement needs engine identification before its emissions, fuel-system or rated-output information can be matched to the right brochure.

The older document describes a mechanically different engine specification alongside electronic hydrostatic travel control. Electronic travel does not by itself identify the later C9 engine. The presence of a monitoring panel therefore cannot resolve which powerplant a photographed machine carries.

In that earlier loader's travel system, each track has its own hydraulic pump and motor circuit. Work and travel selections change how the drive is matched to the job. A demonstration of a straight travel run does not test every loading or turning condition, and an observed steering issue should retain the affected side and operating mode in its description.

The LGP entry in the historical comparison remains separately identified. These two C-Series brochures do not prove that the earlier plain-973 LGP record has either C-Series engine. Do not transfer an engine description between those columns solely because their model numbers begin alike.

Read the later C9 specification with its measurement conditions

The later brochure specifies net flywheel output at its stated rated speed. Its C9 value replaces the earlier unqualified 242-horsepower transcription below; the rejected value remains visible for tracing the correction. The older 3306 edition's rating is a different documented specification rather than a reason to average the outputs.

For bucket comparisons, the later publication gives separate geometry and weight columns for different tools, cutting edges and tooth arrangements. Dump clearance, reach, tipping load and breakout force belong to the selected column together. Choosing each column's most favourable number would describe a combination the table never specifies.

It also labels the pilot-operated single-lever implement control separately from the optional two-lever arrangement and auxiliary valves. A ripper installation removes the rear bumper in the listed configuration. Its effect on machine weight and tipping load therefore needs the specified installed package, rather than simply adding a ripper weight to every existing arrangement.

CMS and the hydrostatic controller exchange diagnostic information, while the engine has its own electronic management. Preserve the reporting system with a fault code so a service enquiry does not begin by treating a travel-system message as an engine finding.
