TH210 versus TH215: fit, attachment interface and daily access

Caterpillar's AEHQ5513 and AEHQ5514 describe compact, hydrostatic telehandlers with naturally aspirated 3054B-DI engines. The TH215 has more height and forward reach; the TH210 occupies a narrower, lower envelope. Neither maximum capacity nor engine output alone answers whether a particular load can be placed at the required reach.

The smaller TH210's layout

AEHQ5513 gives the TH210 a 1800 mm overall width and 1960 mm height, with an outside turning radius of 3 m. Its cab sits beside a low boom pivot, and the engine is mounted to the side. The steering-mode switch selects front-wheel, circle or crab steering; a cab indicator identifies wheel alignment.

The fenders follow the steering wheels, making wheel orientation visible from the driving position.

The TH210's manual quick coupler uses Caterpillar's skid-steer attachment interface. Its brochure lists a general-purpose bucket, a larger light-material bucket and a Class II fork carriage. An interface match alone does not establish a work tool's permitted lifting envelope.

The load diagram uses a 500 mm load center, so a load carried farther from the fork face needs the applicable attachment chart.

For cooling-package access, this TH210 edition describes a tilting oil cooler. A reversing fan is optional. The service schedule belongs to the machine's operation and maintenance manual, rather than an interval inferred from the brochure.

TH215: extra reach with a separate load envelope

The TH215 sheet specifies 1900 mm width and 2130 mm height. Its published maximum forward reach is 3.1 m, against the TH210's 2.8 m. At full reach the TH215 table lists 1000 kg, while the nominal maximum rating is 2500 kg.

Those capacities apply at different boom positions. The maximum-height entry is 2200 kg; do not carry the largest rating across the entire diagram.

AEHQ5514 describes a two-section boom with non-metallic wear pads and cylinder lock valves. The coupler angle is maintained through boom travel. A cable-operated joystick combines boom and tool movements diagonally, while its buttons control telescope and auxiliary functions.

Transmission direction has a separate column-mounted control.

The TH215's hydrostatic drive provides two speed ranges. A foot-operated parking brake is distinct from the power-assisted service brakes, and the brochure describes an accumulator reserve for braking. Its cooler slides out for cleaning in this edition.

Inspect that access arrangement directly; a shared engine model does not mean every cooling component is arranged identically.
