Challenger model reference
The Challenger MT700E manufacturer brochure identifies a factory 321 L/min hydraulic-pump option. Its tractor package uses an AGCO Power 9.8 L seven-cylinder engine and a 16-forward/4-reverse powershift transmission. Later MT738/740/743 transmission and engine details belong to their own generation.
MT700E pump options do not describe every remote outlet
A total-pump figure does not establish the continuous flow available through one remote, the return connection or a case drain. Match the actual installed hydraulic option and implement requirements; do not combine separate maximum-pressure and maximum-flow headlines into a promised output.
Belt width and tractor width are separate dimensions
The brochure offers belts from 406 to 864 mm wide. Those dimensions describe individual belts, not the complete machine’s overall width. Gauge and fitted belt choice both matter to the transport envelope.
The LB baler records below instead quote tractor PTO requirements and pickup/bale dimensions. Their power requirement is not power produced by the baler. Wheeled MT and tracked MT machines also retain distinct ballast and hitch limits despite similar engine figures.
MT700E: identify the documented track and drivetrain arrangement
The dated brochure distinguishes its standard powershift from the optional creeper. The latter adds gears through a reduction arrangement; it is not a description of the standard transmission on every used tractor. Inspect the actual controls and configuration before using a low-speed requirement to select a machine.
The historical MT700E package also differs from later tracked MT generations.
The document separates gauge from belt width. Gauge describes the spacing arrangement of the undercarriage, while nominal belt width describes an individual belt. Neither one alone is the complete transport envelope.
Keep both choices, the installed equipment and the actual machine dimensions in a transport inquiry. Hardbar articulation describes undercarriage movement, not approval to operate on a slope of the same numerical angle.
Two publication discrepancies need a machine-specific answer
The detailed hydraulic spread prints 223 L/min standard supply, while the contents spread says 224 L/min. Likewise, the drivetrain prose states 39.6 km/h transport speed and its adjacent gear graph ends at 36.2 km/h. The dated record identifies both statements explicitly.
Selecting the larger number would conceal the disagreement rather than establish the fitted machine's capability.
For an implement, establish the installed pump option and the permitted circuit conditions. For transport, establish the actual gearing, machine configuration and applicable instructions. A brochure discrepancy calls for that precise verification.
It does not justify inventing a reconciled value or silently presenting one line as a certified result for every MT700E.
Drawbar, linkage and protection have different jobs
The publication describes separate standard and wide-swing drawbars. Its optional drawbar's stated swing should not be relabeled as a full arc or an angle on each side without the applicable instructions. The rear linkage is described with force figures in kN; those statements are not a different manufacturer's payload or lift-point rating.
Use the actual implement installation and the machine instructions for the proposed combination.
The brochure's Over Weight Protection Strategy operates in its lower transmission gears. A protective control does not increase the permitted tractor, axle, tire or attachment load. Its existence also cannot establish that an unidentified used machine's controls are functioning correctly.
Keep the fitted arrangement and any diagnostic evidence with the inspection.
Service access is another useful inspection question. The brochure identifies oil sight gauges, opening cooling cores and the locations of the engine-oil check, cab filter and batteries. Check those actual access points for condition and access on the machine being offered.
Their locations do not supply a maintenance interval, oil specification or repair procedure; obtain those from the applicable operator and service documents.
MT400B: keep the 2009 option package with the tractor
The 2009 MT400B brochure, CH08369_REV (06) NP, covers MT425B, MT445B, MT455B, MT465B and MT475B. Its PTO ratings at 2,200 engine rpm are respectively 65, 75, 85, 95 and 100 hp. Those are PTO figures for that edition, not engine-power values or specifications for similarly numbered D and E generations.
The table names Cat 4.4C engines on the first four models and a 6.6C on MT475B. Retain the engine plate and source edition when comparing an offered tractor with that table. A model badge or similar power figure cannot establish that another generation uses the same engine, injection system or service parts.
Draft sensing and lift point affect implement selection
The specification table gives Category II rear linkage. Its draft-sensing row names top-link sensing for MT425B and MT445B and lower-link sensing for MT455B, MT465B and MT475B. The stated lift point is 24 inches behind the links.
Keep the sensing arrangement and measurement point with an implement inquiry rather than comparing an unqualified lift headline.
A rear-linkage option is not proof that the offered tractor has the cylinders, controls and other required equipment. Inspect the actual package and obtain the applicable documentation. Identify the mounted implement's own mass and load position, along with the approved tractor installation and ballast, before treating a brochure maximum as capacity for the intended work.
Check the hydraulic option rather than borrowing another model's figure
The brochure's descriptive page states 26.4 gpm standard remote flow; its table prints 26 gpm, both beside 100 L/min. Keep that printed precision difference visible. The table limits the optional 29 gpm closed-center arrangement to the identified cab models and marks MT425B outside that option.
Do not assign it to every MT400B.
For a proposed hydraulic implement, identify the installed circuit and controls and obtain its permitted supply and return requirements. A remote-flow listing does not independently establish simultaneous-function performance, continuous duty or acceptable case-drain backpressure. A seller's claim of an upgraded system needs evidence of the fitted components and approved installation, not another model's optional number.
Separate transmission controls from an operating instruction
The brochure identifies Auto-Power IV as the standard transmission with an optional creeper. That distinguishes a named configuration, but it does not replace the operator manual's range, shuttle or stopping procedures. Test and inspect the offered controls under the applicable procedure; a familiar T-handle or steering-column lever does not establish the transmission's condition.
Keep any low-speed requirement with the actual fitted arrangement. A creeper option in an old sales document does not prove that every tractor has it, that a conversion remains available or that the implement can be driven correctly at every travel speed. Confirm the work requirements and actual equipment before pricing the machine as a complete package.
Identify the offered operator station and front equipment
The table identifies both cab and open-platform choices on the smaller models and cab only on MT475B. The brochure also distinguishes front-linkage, hydraulic and PTO options. Photograph and identify what is fitted; the appearance of front equipment in a brochure cannot establish its inclusion in an individual sale or its permitted load on another tractor.
For loader work, retain the complete loader model, attachment, mounting and ballast information with the tractor record. A general loader illustration or one rear-hitch figure cannot define capacity at the loader pins or forward at the attachment. Keep missing manuals and unresolved equipment identities explicit in the inspection scope and obtain the supported figures for the actual arrangement.
Write an MT400B offer around the complete package
Record the exact B-series model, machine and engine identities, transmission option, hydraulic arrangement, operator station and included implements. Identify measured condition and diagnosed work separately from advertised options. This lets a buyer compare what each seller is offering without silently filling one tractor's missing configuration information from another tractor's listing.
Use the dated brochure to ask specific questions, then keep the machine's applicable manuals and findings with the quotation. A source edition can document what was offered historically; it cannot demonstrate that an option is installed, certify a repaired assembly or establish present parts supply. Price supported work and unresolved diagnosis separately before choosing between candidates.
MT400B hitch options: compare the specified lift point and sensing arrangement
The 2009 brochure's rear-hitch table separates standard capacity from optional capacity and identifies the same measurement point for both. Keep that option distinction with the tractor's actual cylinders and installation. A candidate without the stated option cannot be priced or selected as though a higher-capacity entry automatically applies.
Top-link and lower-link draft sensing also remain separate entries in that model table. Identify the arrangement on the offered tractor when assessing a draft-controlled implement. A similar hitch category does not establish identical controls, sensing components or behavior, and a rear-hitch specification cannot be substituted for the front linkage or loader.
For a purchase inquiry, record the exact B-series designation, included front equipment, operator station and installed hydraulic option beside the proposed implement. Obtain the relevant attachment and tractor instructions and identify the installation that needs pricing. A historical option listing is evidence about the documented product range, not evidence that a particular used tractor contains the option.
The dated brochure's dimensions and capacities describe its stated packages. Keep the source edition and actual fitted equipment with a clearance, transport or implement calculation. Do not combine one configuration's lightest weight with another option's largest lift value and describe the result as a single tractor that the document never specifies.
