John Deere 953K specifications
The Deere 953K is a feller buncher
John Deere's 953K carries a PowerTech Plus 6090H engine and a forestry boom. Caterpillar also built a 953K, but that machine is a track loader with bucket-lift arms and a C7.1 engine. They do not share a specification sheet.
Bucket-lift dimensions and Cat emissions notes belong to the loader; they must not be used to size or service the Deere feller buncher.
The Deere brochure identifies the standard U7HD undercarriage separately from the 959K's U7ExD installation. Its drawing assigns upperstructure leveling angles to the 909K and 959K. A family-level description of leveling must therefore not be used to advertise that feature on a 953K.

Deere's operating-weight condition includes standard equipment, double-grouser tracks, half a fuel tank, fluids and an operator, but excludes the attachment. The FR24B felling-head entry has its own weight including adapter and wrist. A machine fitted with that head consequently cannot be described by the bare-machine figure alone.
Reach has two reference points in the same brochure. The machine drawing measures to the attachment pin; the boom-performance section measures to the saw-blade tip. The latter reaches farther because it includes the head geometry.
Bare-pin lifting capacity likewise describes a different point from the cutting edge. These distinctions matter when comparing lift, cutting swath and the reach stated in a sales listing.
The FR24B cutting-capacity entry is separate from its accumulation area. One describes the cut; the other describes the head's ability to gather stems. They should not be substituted for each other when matching the head to a stand of trees.
Three pump ratings describe separate duties
The hydraulic schedule identifies a main pump, a dedicated continuous-saw pump and a dedicated attachment pump. Their flow ratings belong to different functions. Combining them into a single auxiliary-flow claim would conceal the circuit arrangement a replacement head must match.
The cooling fan reverses to clear forestry debris, and hydraulic hood access exposes the engine and pump enclosure for service. Both are specific installation details worth identifying on the machine. The older bucket-clearance dimensions provide no useful substitute for checking this forestry equipment.
