CK20S gear and HST versions give different answers at the PTO

KIOTI's historical CK-series brochure separates the manual CK20S from CK20S HST. Both share the engine's gross rating, but the PTO-output columns differ. A mower or tiller enquiry needs the transmission version and the implement's PTO requirement; the engine-power figure by itself does not settle the match.

The manual version has discrete forward and reverse gears. The HST version uses a pedal for travel speed and direction, with separate ranges. That difference matters when choosing between repeated loader reversals and work at a chosen travel speed.

Ask to see both the range selector and travel controls instead of relying on a listing labelled only CK20S.

The brochure limits cruise control to HST versions. It likewise labels some other CK features as belonging to the larger CK27, CK30 and CK35. The tandem-pump description and tilt-steering-wheel illustration are specifically qualified that way.

They should not become unqualified CK20S equipment claims merely because they appear in the same brochure.

Keep rear-hitch, loader and backhoe measurements separate

The CK20S hitch capacity in the manufacturer table is measured behind the hitch. The KL120 loader table instead identifies lift capacity at its pivot pins and full height. A rear implement within the hitch figure does not establish that the loader will handle the same mass at the bucket's forward edge.

That loader table also distinguishes maximum lift height from clearance with the attachment dumped. When checking whether it reaches a truck or bin, use the dumped-clearance and reach conditions, rather than selecting the largest height printed.

The optional mid PTO can be selected separately from, or together with, the rear PTO. Availability in the literature is not proof that a used CK20S has the mid-drive installation. Check the fitted shaft and controls if a mid-mounted implement is part of the purchase.

KIOTI describes the KB-series backhoes as subframe-mounted, with locking pins and hydraulic quick connections. A listing that includes a backhoe needs that mounting equipment identified as well as the digging attachment. The original tractor dimensions, tyre alternatives, hydraulic figures and historical owner observations remain below; none is a substitute for identifying the implements installed on the tractor.
