Attachment changes distinguish the BX23S from the BX25D

The BX23S comparison turns on how its implements attach, rather than a small difference in the retained tractor weights. Kubota's BX80 brochure describes Swift-Tach for the loader and Swift-Connect for the backhoe. The loader's hydraulic connections disconnect together through a common coupler; the backhoe uses an automatic locking arrangement when the tractor backs into position. These are separate systems serving different attachments.

The BX23S also has boom and swing cushioning at the backhoe's movement limits and hydraulic hoses routed inside the boom. Its positionable mechanical thumb is optional. Check for that actual equipment when comparing two used offers: the photograph of a plain digging bucket does not establish that the thumb option is included.

The BX25D uses mounting pins and a different hydraulic reconnection

The BX25DLB operator's manual describes removing backhoe mounting pins, supporting the detached frames and disconnecting inlet, outlet and power-beyond hoses. It then connects the tractor outlet to the power-beyond pipe. That last connection is part of the documented removal procedure, rather than an instruction simply to disconnect every hose and drive away.

When inspecting a detached BT602, account for the mounting pins and their slide bars as well as the hydraulic connections. The reinstallation instructions require the slide bars in the lower main-frame holes; Kubota warns that the upper-hole position can let the mounting pins come out. Follow the complete manual procedure with the attachment supported as the manual specifies and keep clear of the space between the backhoe and tractor.

The same manual makes rear ballast and an attached three-point implement part of loader use after removing the backhoe. Removing the digging attachment changes the working configuration; the tractor-only weight cannot describe the balance of that loader arrangement.

Separate loader force from backhoe reach

Kubota's BX70 specification sheet assigns the BX25D an LA240A loader and BT602 backhoe. It gives loader breakout at a point forward of the bucket pivot, while the backhoe has its own bucket-cylinder digging force. Those ratings measure different actions; neither is the loader's maximum-height lifting capacity.

The corrected reach entry is measured from the backhoe swing pivot to its working reach. The shorter distance from that pivot to the rear axle is a machine dimension, not the distance a bucket can reach. Retaining both named measurements makes the old transcription error traceable without passing it to a site-layout decision.
