Identify the 5708 Dyna-4 edition before using its controls

The original 2017 MF 5708/5709 Dyna-4 brochure describes a three-cylinder engine and a semi-powershift transmission. It is the relevant publication for that 5708 configuration. A current regional 5700 brochure can describe a different engine and gearbox, so the family number alone is insufficient for choosing service parts.

For example, Massey Ferguson's Middle East 5700 page lists 5709 and 5710 configurations with a four-cylinder engine and synchronized gearbox choices. That is a useful identification contrast, not evidence that the earlier 5708 has been converted to the same specification. Keep the engine plate, market and transmission designation together.

Dyna-4 range changes and automatic shifting are distinct features

The original Dyna-4 control description uses the right-hand T-lever for powershift changes; the range-selection button changes the command to a range change. The left-hand Power Control lever also handles transmission functions. Establish the installed control layout before assuming that a lever movement should produce the same result as an older mechanical gearbox.

Speedmatching chooses an appropriate powershift ratio when the range changes. AutoDrive is an additional option, with separate Power and Eco behavior. A machine advertised as Dyna-4 has not thereby been shown to include every automatic-shifting feature.

The brochure also makes Brake-to-Neutral an optional clutch-control function. Its selected state matters during repetitive loader work. Comfort Control adjusts shuttle engagement behavior separately; it should not be confused with an automatic engine-power increase.

The combined-flow option is a different hydraulic arrangement

The standard system assigns one gear pump to internal services and another to the auxiliary spool valves and linkage. The optional high-flow arrangement has its own pump allocation and combination control. Do not obtain the optional loader figure by adding two unrelated entries from the standard-system columns.

The PTO schedule likewise distinguishes an independent electro-hydraulic clutch from the engine speed needed to obtain a selected shaft speed. The inherited 5708 clutch entry was a speed pair. Its correction below retains that pair as speed data instead of presenting it as a clutch construction.

The 3307, 4275, 4292 and 4710 columns describe other tractors. Their dry-disc or mechanical components remain attached to their own records; the later 5708's hydraulic controls are not retrofit instructions for those machines.
