Mustang model reference
In Mustang’s 2007 519 brochure, maximum capacity is 5500 lb, capacity at maximum lift height is 3000 lb, and capacity at maximum forward reach is 1850 lb. The headline rating therefore cannot answer a placement at 11 ft reach. Match the machine’s load chart, attachment and setup to the actual lift.
The 519’s rated capacity changes with reach
That version uses a 64 hp Deutz TD2009 L04 engine, rated at 2750 rpm, and a two-speed hydrostatic transmission. The brochure’s approximate machine weight is 10000 lb. A later engine package or a different Mustang telehandler needs its own specification rather than these values.
2109 cab height differs from hinge-pin height
The July 2005 Mustang 2109 sheet gives an 81-inch ROPS height and a 142-inch hinge-pin height. Its 950-amp entry is battery cold-cranking output. These are different measurements from alternator current and overall height with the loader raised.
Keep the 519 brochure edition beside the machine
The linked 519TH-WEB-12/09 manufacturer brochure carries copyright 2010. Its separate dated record retains the engine, drive, hydraulic supply, lift positions and transport dimensions. This gives a used-machine inquiry an identifiable document instead of relying on the shared 519 name across equipment makers.
One unit conversion in that document is inconsistent: the maximum-height capacity line prints 3000 lb with 1180 kg in parentheses. Those quantities are not equivalent. The record retains the unambiguous pound statement and calls out the discrepancy instead of copying the metric parenthesis as another valid capacity.
The actual load chart remains necessary for the fitted attachment and placement.
The published maximum capacity, maximum-height capacity and maximum-forward-reach capacity describe different positions. They are not three alternative ratings from which the operator may choose the largest. Establish the load, attachment and required placement together.
The brochure diagram illustrates a capacity envelope; it is not a replacement for the applicable legible chart on the machine.
Its length entry excludes forks, while its overall height and maximum lift height describe different dimensions. Use the travel configuration and installed equipment when assessing a doorway or trailer. A mast or boom reaching a height does not establish that the machine can carry its headline maximum load at that height or through a particular opening.
Enclosure and tires are configuration choices as well. The brochure distinguishes the standard canopy from the optional cab and lists different tire constructions or fills. Identify the actual fitted equipment and required documentation before transferring approximate mass or operating assumptions to a specific unit.
An advertised option is not proof that the used machine includes it.
Shared corporate ownership does not identify service parts
Gehl's company history records its acquisition of Mustang in 1997. Manitou's history records the 2008 acquisition of Gehl Company, which owned both brands. Those relationships help identify the historical support context; they do not establish that similarly sized Gehl and Mustang machines use interchangeable engines, attachments or parts.
Use the complete Mustang designation and serial identification in a parts inquiry. Keep the installed engine and attachment identifications with it, along with the document edition being consulted. Resolve a conflicting specification as a specific machine question rather than replacing it with a figure from a similar-looking product sold under another brand.
2044 and 2054: identify the engine and control package before ordering
Mustang's 2044/2054 parts manual 917027, Revision F, May 2007, covers both named loaders and their EU variants. Its introduction locates the model and serial decal on the left chassis upright and asks for model and serial identity with a parts order. That is useful machine-specific identification information; a 2044 or 2054 badge alone cannot select every part shown in the book.
Keep the complete machine number with the installed engine identity and the particular assembly being repaired. The manual contains serial-qualified alternatives, model-specific quantities and separate control arrangements. A diagram that resembles the machine can still belong to another range or option, so retain its heading and notes with the part number rather than ordering from the drawing alone.
Separate the battery rating from charging output
The engine-and-controls parts list, printed page 12, labels the battery reference 700 CCA for both model columns. CCA is a cold-cranking rating. It is not a 700-amp alternator specification and cannot be moved into a charging-output field.
A parts-list reference also needs the actual battery mounting, terminals and applicable replacement requirements checked before purchase.
The same book identifies locally sourced replacement batteries, with their specification in its engine-and-controls information; match that entry to the installed arrangement before buying. A reference item is not automatically an orderable Mustang part. Keep the distinction between identifying a required battery and locating a current supplier or replacement product; the catalog does not promise present stock or one universal battery fit.
The 917099/GP0310 operator manual, printed page 85, separately lists a 40 AMP alternator, battery group class 31 and 700 CCA in its 2044 electrical specification. These are three labels for different aspects of the electrical package. Match the manual and installed equipment before applying those values to another version or replacement engine.
Keep the engine alternatives with their own service information
Printed page 12 of the parts manual includes Yanmar 4TNV88 service-engine information in both model columns, a 4TNE84 entry in the 2044 column and a 4TNE88 entry in the 2054 column. Those are alternatives to identify in the catalog, not proof that every machine sharing the badge uses the same engine. The printed footnotes and serial references remain part of the fitment decision.
The introduction directs service parts for the 3TNV88 and 4TNV88 engines to publication 917105, while the contents identify a separate engine-service section for the 4TNE84/88 arrangements. Obtain the applicable engine reference after reading the installed identification. Do not select a filter, injector or internal engine part solely from a secondary model listing that names one engine option.
The parts list can identify an assembly and relevant service references without establishing the condition of the engine installed today. A replacement engine or repaired assembly needs its own record. Keep the original machine identity and the installed engine number together rather than discarding one when the other returns a plausible parts result.
Confirm whether the 2054 has the relevant high-flow installation
The parts manual's printed page 53 identifies lift-arm plumbing for 2054 high-flow models from serial V6801 and up. The list includes a separately labeled case-drain line, high-flow auxiliary-port decal and the relevant couplings. That is evidence of a particular documented arrangement, not permission to assume that every 2054 has high flow or that a decal alone proves the installation is complete.
The kits section, printed page 255, distinguishes 2054 high-flow kit 490-33575 for dual-lever controls from 490-33576 for T-bar controls, with the same V6801-and-up heading. A control-package difference matters to the kit choice. Do not infer that one kit serves every control arrangement or that an old catalog entry establishes current availability or approval for an earlier serial.
Inspect the fitted equipment and match the correct installation documentation with any proposed tool. Flow, pressure, return, case drain and electrical or operating controls remain separate requirements. The presence of the case-drain component in one catalog arrangement does not rate every attachment's permitted backpressure or supply its complete operating instructions.
Keep the auxiliary tool, complete carrier configuration and permitted settings with the offer. A secondary table's pump-flow figure may describe a different option or measurement from the one a seller is offering. Confirm the installed package before treating an included planer, auger or other tool as evidence that the carrier can operate it correctly.
Use the self-leveling plumbing's explicit serial boundary
The self-leveling valve plumbing on printed pages 55–56 identifies the later arrangement as 2044 P4301 and up and 2054 V6801 and up. Its notes distinguish the preceding P4300-and-before and V6800-and-before ranges. Retain the letter prefixes and the inclusive boundary; the number alone cannot distinguish the two models' ranges.
Check which illustration and item note applies before selecting a hose or fitting. An item can be available in more than one arrangement without every connection being identical. Copy the applicable description, quantity and reference with the quotation, and resolve uncertain serial characters from the plate or manufacturer support rather than guessing the catalog range.
A catalog boundary explains a fitment change; it does not diagnose a symptom or certify a later machine's condition. If a loader's equipment has been changed, inspect and identify the installed arrangement and obtain the relevant service guidance. A prior repair can make the badge and original production range insufficient on their own.
Keep loader hydraulics distinct from the hydrostatic drive
The parts book organizes auxiliary, lift, tilt, high-flow and self-leveling plumbing separately from the hydrostatic drive and its charge, cooler and return-filter plumbing. It also separates component breakdowns for the tandem pump, gear pump and control valves. Use the section for the function being identified rather than treating every hose or pressure label as part of one interchangeable circuit.
For a service quotation, name the affected function and retain the relevant diagram, part identification and findings. A hydraulic reservoir quantity cannot establish a complete system refill, and a drive-system relief value cannot be substituted for an attachment-circuit limit. The operating specification and the service test method need the identified circuit and configuration.
Plan inspection and testing through the actual support, isolation and pressure-control procedure. A parts drawing identifies components and connections; it does not replace a safe access method or authorize a diagnostic maneuver. Keep safeguards in place and have fault findings established before treating an apparent part match as the required repair.
Read the 2044 operator-manual ratings on their stated bases
The 917099/GP0310 operator manual's printed page 86 identifies a 1,450 lb SAE load rating and 2,900 lb SAE tipping load for the listed 2044 configuration. The corresponding weight-kit entries are 1,550 lb and 3,100 lb. These are configuration-specific values from that edition; the weight kit is not an unrestricted addition to another version's capacity.
| Manual entry | Listed configuration | With stated weight kit |
|---|---|---|
| Load rating, SAE | 1,450 lb | 1,550 lb |
| Tipping load, SAE | 2,900 lb | 3,100 lb |
A tipping load is a load quantity here, not an angle expressed in degrees. The manual also distinguishes fork-load entries by load center and measurement system. Do not use the bucket figure as a fork allowance or choose a larger number without the attachment, basis and configuration that produced it.
The RitchieSpecs-based comparison below retains its separately labeled operating-load and net-power entries. A reference value and a manufacturer-manual value may have different editions, configurations or rating bases. Keep the disagreement visible and obtain the applicable documentation for the actual serial range before choosing which figure governs a proposed task.
The same operator manual lists 49 hp at 3,000 rpm as rated engine power on printed page 85. That label must not be silently changed to a 49 hp net rating. A comparison with the secondary reference's 47 hp net figure needs the respective power definitions as well as the engine identity; the numerical difference alone cannot prove that one engine gained output.
Distinguish operating and shipping mass in a transport plan
On printed page 87 of the operator manual, the 2044 operating-weight entry is 5,800 lb and shipping weight with flotation tires is 5,200 lb. Its shipping note identifies the exclusions as 75 lb fuel, 175 lb operator and 350 lb bucket. Those stated exclusions total 600 lb, matching the difference between the two entries.
This arithmetic explains that source's measurement bases. It does not weigh an unidentified bucket, prescribe a fuel fill or establish the mass of every older 2044. Match the manual, tire arrangement, fitted tools and other equipment before preparing the actual secured transport load, and avoid counting the same included item twice.
Include attachments carried separately, the trailer's own mass and actual load distribution when checking the complete combination. Machine shipping weight is one input; it does not independently establish trailer payload, axle loading, ramp suitability or route permission. Keep the verified configuration with the transport quotation rather than relying on the badge and a bare weight.
Check the offered controls and protection against the named manual
The operator manual distinguishes control and safety equipment according to the options installed. Its descriptions of T-bar or dual-lever arrangements must be matched to the offered loader. A photograph of the cab can help identify the controls without proving that interlocks, brakes, warning equipment or every function works under the required inspection procedure.
The manual's machine description identifies rollover protection under ISO 3471 and falling-object protection under ISO 3449 Level 1 for its stated package. Preserve the actual structure, glazing and guards and check the supported application. Those references do not approve a modified cab or establish protection for every demolition, forestry or projectile hazard introduced by another tool.
Inspect the coupler and attachment retention with the actual tool, as well as lift linkage, pivots, structure, tires and drive condition. The relevant parts diagrams can help price the identified scope, but a current-looking coupler or new tire cannot verify every associated system. Keep missing documentation and untested functions identified separately.
Make the 2044/2054 purchase record specific
Record the machine and engine serials, control arrangement, hydraulic options, attachments, source editions and observed condition. Include the repairs and service needed to complete the documented job. The parts list's serial changes and the operator manual's separate rating bases show why a model-name advertisement is not a complete specification.
Compare quotations over the same required loading, carrying, tool and transport work. Use actual repair and insurance quotations and explicit ownership assumptions rather than a fixed class-wide cost multiplier. Historical asking-price samples or forum-title counts can describe what was recorded at a time; they do not demonstrate present value or the frequency of a mechanical failure.
