Salford model reference
For Salford Independent Series tillage, compare blade spacing and the blade/mount package before choosing a working width. The I-1200 and I-2200 both use 5-inch spacing, but the I-2200 uses the larger blade and Coil-Tech II mount found on the I-2100. A higher series number alone does not describe that combination.
Salford makes tillage and application equipment; its catalog separates Salford tillage, BBI spinner spreaders, Valmar applicators and AerWay aeration equipment. Choose by task and configuration, then compare the implement’s transport envelope with your route. Source: Salford product catalog.
I-1200, I-2100 and I-2200 change different parts of the tool
| Series and source | Blade spacing | Blade diameter | Coil-Tech mount |
|---|---|---|---|
| I-1200 | 5 in | 20 in | 1¼-in Coil-Tech I |
| I-2100 | 7.5 in | 22 in | 1⅝-in Coil-Tech II |
| I-2200 | 5 in | 22 in | 1⅝-in Coil-Tech II |
Moving from the I-1200 description to I-2200 changes the listed diameter by 2 inches and the mount size by ⅜ inch while leaving spacing at 5 inches. Those are differences in the stated hardware; they are not a calculated increase in field output or a promise that one setup suits every soil condition.
The 16-foot field pass is not an 11-foot road opening
The I-2100 example below has a 16-foot working width and an 11-foot transport width. Use the folded transport dimension for the route, and measure the complete implement with its fitted finishing equipment before arranging transport. The working-width difference is 5 feet; it does not create spare clearance around an 11-foot opening.
The I-2100 specification table separates working width, folded dimensions and approximate weight with standard harrows. Use the entry for the width being compared, and retain its equipment assumptions. A width name alone does not identify every fitted option.
Inspect the fitted package before pricing a used implement
Record the series and width, identify the installed mounts and blades, and inventory the harrow, basket and any shank equipment included in the sale. Compare that inventory with the appropriate manufacturer's document rather than ordering wear parts from width alone.
Transport planning also needs the implement's height and approximate mass, while tractor matching needs the approved hitch, hydraulic functions and power requirement for the particular configuration. Use equipment transport checks for the move and Attachments for tractors: tractor and implement connection checks when comparing the tractor interface; a category label alone is not a complete fit check.
Inspect the blade suspension and hub on an I-1200
The I-1200 feature description identifies independently mounted blades with six inches of vertical travel and a serviceable, greasable hub. It lists a 100-hour hub grease interval, double tapered cup-and-cone bearings, a multi-lip seal, a grass-wrap guard and a blade scraper. Inspect that assembly as more than a blade diameter: identify the mount, retaining parts and condition of the protection around the hub.
Use the applicable manual and service conditions for the actual implement. The published interval identifies a maintenance requirement, not evidence that a used hub was serviced or that every operating condition permits the same treatment. Include the installed finishing equipment in the inspection and the transport inventory.
Separate I-2100 finishing controls from shank equipment
For the I-2100, Salford describes parallel-linkage tine harrows with adjustable pitch and a rolling-basket finishing arrangement. Flex Finish is the option that provides hydraulic adjustment of both harrows and baskets from the cab. Identify whether it is fitted and which control connections the tractor must provide; a standard finishing assembly is not automatically the hydraulic option.
The same product description permits SwitchBlade shank kits on 15- or 30-inch centers. It describes lifting every second shank of the 15-inch arrangement for the 30-inch fertilizer application. Keep the named kit, shank configuration and application together.
A blade-only offer, a shank-equipped implement and a hydraulically adjusted finishing package are different inventories to compare and service.
Compare the weight of the actual I-2200 width
The I-2200 specification table lists approximately 14,000 lb for the 16-foot version with standard harrows. The I-2100 table gives 11,400 lb on that same stated width and harrow basis, a calculated 2,600 lb difference. Both pages list an 11-foot transport width and 10-foot transport height for their 16-foot entries.
Similar folded dimensions do not establish identical mass.
Keep the width column and included harrows beside the weight, and inventory any fitted options separately. The I-2200 combines the closer spacing described above with its larger blade and mount package; that hardware comparison cannot supply a measured field-output increase or authorize an assumed tractor or transport combination.

Salford I-2100: 16 ft configuration
The 16 ft working width is not the road width: this folding configuration is listed at 11 ft in transport. Check the exact fitted harrows and options before using the approximate weight in a hauling calculation.
