The 4930 spray system and F4365 dry box need different checks
The 4930 and F4365 belong to different application systems. The 4930 table describes a solution tank, rinse tank and sectional spray boom; Deere's F4365 ordering document instead specifies a dry nutrient applicator with a spinner box. A boom-width comparison therefore cannot tell you whether an F4365 can replace a liquid sprayer.
Establish which material you need to apply and the fitted application body before comparing chassis speed or engine output.
For the 2018-model F4365, Deere lists an infinitely variable transmission and separate field and transport speed limits. Its DN495 choices include a single-bin body and multi-product arrangements, with different material-handling equipment. SpreadStar controls application rate; a receiver mounting bracket alone does not establish that a guidance receiver is supplied.
The ordering document also lists separate catch-test, material-size/crush-strength and spread-pattern kits. Those address different parts of setting up a dry spreader, rather than substituting one calibration number for every fertilizer.
Source: Deere F4365 ordering document, 13 November 2017, pages 1–9On a used 4930, check the actual boom plumbing and chassis equipment against Deere's sprayer attachment catalogue. It includes the 4930 in the automatic air-spring leveling application list and describes a deflation switch near Quik-Fill for trailering, followed by reinflation after restarting. That is a specific feature to identify on the machine; a seller's general claim of suspension equipment does not confirm its operation.
The catalogue also lists 4930 boom-section cleanout kits, underframe shields and boom-height control among the applicable attachments. Its high-clearance extension kit, however, is listed for the 4730 and 4830. That listing does not establish compatibility with the 4930.
Similarly, the documented direct-injection retrofit applies to the 4940 and named R-series sprayers, rather than proving a 4930 has chemical injection. When an advertised modification is central to the job, ask for the kit identity and its application instructions. The distinction is between documented equipment compatibility and the broad description “Deere sprayer,” not between good and bad examples of the same machine.
