Deere 655 and 755 P-Tier crawler loaders: tracks, buckets and controls
655 and 755 P-Tier are bucket-equipped crawler loaders
The P-Tier655 and 755 comparison concerns tracked loaders, despite the older reference's dozer heading. Their front buckets, lift cylinders and loader linkage are central to the choice. Separate these machines from the small Deere utility tractors that also used655 and 755 numbers; a PTO or three-point-hitch complaint on those tractors is not a crawler-loader diagnosis.
655: its own track and bucket configuration
Deere's655 P-Tier specification lists 155 net horsepower at 1700 rpm and a standard 20 inch shoe. The standard track contact length is 95 inches. The 755 uses a different shoe and footprint, so a ground-pressure comparison needs both configuration labels.
The earlier tables also distinguish general-purpose and multi-purpose buckets: changing the bucket changes its mass and the published static tipping load.
The 655's dual-path hydrostatic drive gives each track its own pump and motor. Steering can keep power applied through a turn or counter-rotate the tracks. Control layouts are selectable: Deere describes a joystick arrangement as well as a V-pattern transmission lever with steering pedals, alongside different hydraulic-lever arrangements.
Inspect the actual controls before planning an operator changeover.
Quad-Cool groups the radiator, condenser, intercooler and fluid coolers away from engine heat. Swing-out side shields and a tilting grille expose the cooling package for cleaning. The monitor displays hydraulic and hydrostatic pressures, providing more useful diagnostic information than assuming every slow function has the same cause.

755: larger loader figures and a different rated speed
The 755 reference specifies 194 net horsepower at 1800 rpm. The old shared row heading stated 1700 rpm for both machines; the 755's own rated-speed entry resolves that mismatch. Deere lists a 22 inch standard shoe and 102 inches of track on the ground.
Those dimensions accompany the standard ground-pressure figure; they should not be combined with the 655's footprint.
For the larger loader's stated bucket configuration, the current table gives 3.2 cubic yards and a 33,867 lb static tipping load. Neither figure describes a suspended-load rating. Bucket pin height, dump height and reach describe different positions in the loading cycle.
Match the required truck-side clearance to the dump geometry and the actual bucket, rather than using maximum pin height as the dump clearance.
The 755 feature description separates Eco mode, auto-idle and timed engine shutdown. Eco coordinates engine and transmission settings under load; idle reduction responds when travel and implement functions are inactive. Shutdown follows an operator-selected interval.
A seller's “automatic” description needs those individual functions identified.

Older 655/755 owner numbers and the September2026 sample
The owner entries below concern older utility tractors sharing 655/755 names. Their review years and references to PTO, mowing and hitch equipment cannot identify these P-Tier crawler loaders. The earlier forum search also used an incorrect crawler-dozer class; its recorded counts remain historical search metadata.
