Narrow frames, short arms and later attachment controls

The PC230NHD-7 is not simply a PC240 with a narrower shoe. Komatsu describes a larger, heavier undercarriage than the PC210NLC-7, intended for severe ground conditions while retaining a narrow transport envelope. Track gauge measures between the track centerlines; outside width includes the shoes.

The original schedule lists both, so they should not share one value.

Its very short and short arms use larger-bore cylinders for difficult digging. The brochure also distinguishes monoboom and articulated-boom transport dimensions. Even the raised hose changes the height measurement on the articulated arrangement.

For an attachment demonstration, the monitor can adjust flow in active, economy or breaker mode; combined implement operation automatically reduces attachment flow to preserve work-equipment movement.

The PC290-7 manufacturer schedule identifies an aftercooled engine and separates LC from NLC equipment. Its lifting charts include the illustrated bucket, linkage and cylinder. The listed bucket mass therefore belongs to the rating's conditions; a bare-arm capacity from a later brochure uses a different basis.

Compare the chart notes before comparing the bold lifting figures.

Komatsu's SCSH work-equipment bushings extend lubrication intervals on specified joints, but bucket-pin coverage depends on bucket design. That footnote matters on an excavator carrying a replacement bucket. The optional factory lubrication installation also includes protected lines on the arm.

Check the actual installation instead of assuming every greasing point has the brochure's extended interval.

The PC290LC-10 introduces a different emissions and control package. Its technical page identifies net output separately from the larger ISO 14396 rating. Kilowatts are not horsepower; the earlier comparison confused those units.

The European brochure also documents particulate-filter regeneration and cooled exhaust recirculation, unlike the Stage II Dash 7 arrangement.

Attachment setup moves beyond selecting a work mode: the Dash 10 monitor stores individually named flow settings, while another auxiliary line remains an equipment choice. Its lifting tables use a bare arm and require deductions for fitted equipment. A used-unit comparison should therefore include the saved setup, fitted piping and correct-generation lifting chart, alongside engine output.
