Komatsu PC200-8 to PC240LC-10: modes and front equipment

PC200-8 and PC220LC-8 controls precede the PC240LC-10 attachment split

Komatsu's CEN00049-08 PC200 brochure lists five working modes. Power and Economy govern the normal production/fuel-priority choice; lifting, breaker and two-way attachment operation have their own settings. The breaker and attachment selections are not interchangeable names for auxiliary oil.

Match the selected circuit to the tool and its return requirements.

The PC200-8 schedule also separates the shorter conventional chassis from the PC200LC-8. Track rollers and shoe counts differ, even though the brochure shares engine and hydraulic sections. The PC220LC-8 has another chassis schedule in its own publication.

A boom photo or engine model cannot establish which track frame is being sold.

For a PC200 inspection, the optional service valve and rear-view monitoring system deserve a physical check. The color monitor is standard, but that does not make every camera or auxiliary function standard. EMMS stores abnormality information and reports maintenance intervals; obtain the recorded message instead of treating an unrelated controller-code discussion as a diagnosis.

Cooling components on the PC200 and PC220 publications sit beside one another, allowing individual access to the radiator, aftercooler and oil cooler. Their remote oil-filter and fuel-drain locations are useful inspection points. Check the actual cooler faces and fuel pre-filter water separator rather than judging the cooling system through the outer grille.

The PC240LC-10 European equipment list has front-specific exceptions

The later European sheet explicitly separates Attachment Power from Attachment Economy, alongside Power, Economy, Breaker and Lifting modes. It lists an additional hydraulic circuit as standard on ordinary fronts but optional with Super Long Front. Quick-coupler preparation and additional hydraulic functions have separate exclusions for that long-front configuration.

A long boom does not retain every ordinary-front equipment assumption.

The same sheet offers a monoboom, two-piece boom and an 18 m Super Long Front, with different arm choices. Its heavy counterweight belongs to the long-front equipment schedule. Compare the complete front and counterweight combination before selecting a lifting chart or transport arrangement.

Finally, the European sheet distinguishes standard rear camera from optional right-side camera, standard remote swing-circle greasing from optional automatic greasing, and a standard battery main switch from the emergency engine stop. Each has a different job. Demonstrating one switch or one camera does not establish the other options.
