Identify the material-handling front before using an excavator chart

The retained PC600LC-8 and PC800LC-8 material-handler records describe long, two-piece fronts. Their working envelopes and attachment-excluded weights belong to those records. A standard backhoe brochure explains the base machine, but does not establish the lifting capacity, transport weight or approved configuration of a converted handler.

The PC800LC-8 listing contains separate front options

RitchieSpecs identifies both a shorter material-handling front and a longer alternative for the PC800LC-8. Each has its own maximum height, ground reach and depth. Keep those dimensions together.

Selecting the longer option's height while retaining the shorter option's reach would describe neither listed arrangement.

The listing also labels its operating weight as excluding the attachment. That heading matters for a grapple or magnet installation: it is not a scale ticket for the complete transported machine. Record the fitted front, tool and counterweight before comparing a haulier's permitted load with the listed machine weight.

PC600 lifting mode deliberately slows equipment movement

The original PC600-8 brochure describes a lifting mode that increases hydraulic pressure while reducing work-equipment and swing speeds. Slower movement in that mode is therefore an intended control response. Compare like settings when investigating a complaint about loading speed.

PowerMax is a temporary digging-force function, separate from lifting mode. Neither button supplies a load chart for an altered long front. The same brochure distinguishes a floating boom response for gathering blasted rock from a power setting for digging.

Identify the selected boom mode before interpreting upward boom movement as a failed holding circuit.

PC800 hydraulic options are application-specific

Komatsu's European PC800-8 brochure separates additional hydraulic arrangements for breakers and crushers. The published flow allowances are attachment-specific; they do not establish a magnet power supply or a grapple's approved pressure. Check the installed auxiliary circuit against the attachment maker's requirements.

Its twin swing motors and selectable swing priority also affect compound movement. The setting redistributes oil between boom and swing, so a loading-cycle comparison needs the same priority selected. The standard excavator's shorter backhoe geometry remains a separate configuration from the material-handler fronts recorded here.
