Zoomlion ZE230 to ZE310 specifications

The earlier ZE230 and ZE310 use different Cummins engine families

Shaanxi Zoomlion's archived product descriptions identify the ZE230 with a Cummins 6BTA5.9-C167 and the ZE310 with a 6CTA8.3-C240. Both advertisements describe Kawasaki hydraulic components. A familiar hydraulic supplier therefore does not make the two engines interchangeable, or establish that their injection equipment and service parts are the same.

The ZE310 advertisement specifically describes its engine as UK-made. Treat that as the offered configuration in the manufacturer's archived listing, rather than proof about a used machine whose engine may have been changed. Engine identification is particularly useful here because the original displacement transcription below was physically inconsistent with the named engine family.

The archived ZE230 description also mentions alternative front equipment, including grapples and hammers. It gives no attachment-specific load chart or circuit settings in that description. That list establishes an offered equipment concept; it does not certify an arbitrary attachment's mounting, flow or lifting suitability.

Although the advertisement describes the ZE line as developed from the PC200, that statement does not make a Komatsu workshop diagram or part number applicable to a Zoomlion. The engine and hydraulic supplier descriptions should stay with the actual Zoomlion model when obtaining a repair quotation.

The ZE310 displacement entry needs an engine-family correction

Cummins' own 6CT/6CTA8.3 document identifies an inline-six with an 8.3-litre displacement. Its published cubic-inch equivalent replaces the rejected five-digit cubic-inch entry. That document concerns marine auxiliary arrangements: its cooling installation, sump quantity, emissions approvals and power curves are not specifications for the ZE310 excavator.

Use the family document to identify that displacement error, while obtaining the construction engine's actual build information for service. Substituting an entire marine specification would introduce a different set of errors.

A ZE230E operation manual is a different control reference

The later ZE205E/ZE230E manual describes P, E, L and B working modes, with E selected at startup. It also distinguishes the power-boost button from attachment control when B mode is active. These are useful identifiers when an offered machine is labelled ZE230E; they have not been assigned to the earlier unsuffixed ZE230 column.

Its monitor instructions discuss both maintenance settings and work-hour displays. A displayed maintenance reminder is not a record proving that the work was completed. Keep the service invoice and the identified E-series control arrangement with an inspection, rather than interpreting an unfamiliar monitor through the older ZE230's specification list.
