Cat 14 specifications
Cat 14 blade response depends on control mode and selected gear
The Cat 14 combines joystick control with gear-dependent engine output. Its optional grading functions do different jobs: Stable Blade responds to bounce, Cross Slope controls one side of the blade, and Auto Articulation follows steering. Establish which functions are installed before interpreting a change in blade or engine response.
A commanded rpm reduction can be part of Stable Blade operation
Caterpillar describes optional Stable Blade reducing engine speed when bounce is detected, then increasing it as the grader settles. Record the feature's state and the bouncing condition when reporting a speed change. The observation alone does not identify a fuel-system fault.
Return-to-Center straightens the articulated frame with a button command. Auto Articulation is a separate option that articulates while steering. Demonstrating the first function does not establish that the machine has the second.
The published hydraulic lockout disables implements while leaving steering available. Operator-presence monitoring also keeps implements disabled until the seated operator and machine satisfy its operating conditions. Distinguish those intentional states from a blade-control complaint.

The 2026 build-15B technical sheet lists net output separately for each forward gear. Its first-gear figure is lower than its eighth-gear figure. Using the largest headline number to predict low-gear grading performance changes the operating condition being compared.
The earlier first-gear entry in the retained capture and the new document's first-gear entry have slightly different rounding. Keep their editions attached. This guide does not apply the new gear table retrospectively to every older 14 or 14M3.
Original AEXQ4457, build15B, 2026, p2: net-power conditions and forward/reverse gear tableAttachment clearance and operating weight use different descriptions
The technical sheet identifies a typically equipped weight with an operator, full fluids and specified tires. Its dimension drawing separately identifies its tire assumption and distinguishes cab height from maximum height with attachments. A transport plan needs the installed equipment, not the cab-height number alone.
The moldboard table also distinguishes the blade from the cutting edges and end bits. A blade-width choice does not by itself identify the full cutting assembly's outside width. Measure the fitted assembly before treating an attachment description as a transport envelope.
