Cat dump truck specifications

Choose the discharge system before comparing truck power

The 730 Ejector illustrates why this directory separates truck arrangements. Its horizontal, double-acting cylinder pushes the load out without tipping the body. The truck can spread material while moving, which changes the unloading operation compared with a conventional raised-body truck.

Cat's original AEHQ5634-03 brochure describes reduced overhead-clearance needs, but that does not supply permission to work beneath a particular obstruction or electrical line.

Material size matters too. For optimum durability and wear life, that brochure specifies rock smaller than 152 mm (6 in) for the ejector body. Establish the material being hauled before choosing ejection solely to avoid tipping.

A large-rock hauling requirement is not answered by the same specification as spreading suitable fill.

The hitch has separate steering and ground-following functions: articulation turns the truck, while oscillation maintains wheel contact over uneven ground. Inspect and describe those joints separately from the body and ejector mechanism when comparing an articulated listing. The ejector's body arrangement, material restriction and hitch construction are more useful selection details than treating every truck with similar horsepower as interchangeable.
