730C and 730C EJ unload through different body systems

The 730C EJ brochure specifies a horizontal ejector cylinder and a moving blade. Its eject and retract schedules describe that mechanism, while the conventional 730C's raise/lower rows describe tipping. Keeping both in a comparison is useful only when their different functions stay attached to the numbers.

The EJ arrangement can discharge without lifting the body into the overhead space. Caterpillar presents it for restricted-clearance and soft-ground applications. That advantage does not establish unrestricted operation beneath power lines or on any side slope; site clearance and the applicable operating limits still have to be assessed.

The publication also qualifies the ejector body's intended material by maximum rock size. An EJ badge therefore does not mean that a payload suitable for a conventional dump body can always pass through this ejector without an attachment-specific check.

Automatic clutch engagement differs from the earlier 730 Ejector switches

The C-Series ATC description uses wheel and machine-speed sensors to proportionally engage inter-axle and cross-axle wet clutches. It also releases them as conditions change. A driver need not reproduce the older C11 machine's footswitch sequence for this system; use the actual C-Series controls and diagnostic information.

The CX31 transmission combines electronic clutch-pressure control with APECS. Its speed hold/limiting function is separate from the transmission's automatic shift-point changes. Before a haul test, identify any selected speed limit so an intentional restriction is not mistaken for loss of engine output.

Identify the high-regulation engine and monitor configuration

The HRC brochure names a Clean Emissions Module containing DPF and SCR equipment. It distinguishes automatic working regeneration, automatic low-idle regeneration and a manual stationary procedure. A machine from another emission market needs its matching instructions; the C13 ACERT name alone does not establish identical aftertreatment.

The Color Multi-Purpose Display combines condition information and the rear-camera display. Its warning categories require different responses, with the most severe category requiring the machine and engine to be stopped. Record the actual warning category and code rather than treating every lamp as a request for regeneration.

The specification separates empty weight, rated-load mass and fully loaded weight. The earlier duplicated total-loaded row borrowed the payload quantity. The correction below uses the manufacturer's gross loaded figure and retains the wrong entry for comparison; axle masses printed as percentages are corrected to pounds.
