PAT and SIGMADOZER are different blade arrangements

The D65EX-16 SIGMA record should not inherit the PAT blade's dimensions. Komatsu's CEN00373-02 equipment table gives the EX SIGMADOZER a 5.61 m³ blade and the EX power-angle/power-tilt arrangement a 4.25 m³ blade. Width, height, drop and blade-control cylinders also differ.

A capacity written only as “5.6” conceals a cubic-metre versus cubic-yard error.

The Asian publication separates ordinary and PLUS undercarriage figures with parentheses. It also distinguishes tractor weight from operating weight with a named blade. Ripper equipment adds another condition.

Those labels explain why apparently similar D65EX weights cannot be compared as bare machines.

Automatic and manual shift modes behave differently when the load disappears: automatic mode can upshift, while manual mode retains the selected behaviour after an automatic downshift. P and E select the working-power strategy independently. Hydraulic steering and the TORQFLOW travel transmission remain separate systems.

The lockup clutch couples engine output directly to the transmission in its working speed range. Komatsu treats this as a drivetrain-efficiency feature. It does not turn a manually selected gearshift mode into automatic upshifting after the push ends.

The European package changes the equipment comparison

The European D65 brochure includes blade and ripper in the EX/WX operating-weight condition. Its EX INPAT and SIGMADOZER entries also use different track gauges and standard shoe widths. The wide-gauge PAT chassis is not simply the SIGMA machine with its blade exchanged.

European INPAT specifications describe variable pitch, while the cylinder table separates SIGMADOZER tilt/pitch cylinders from the angle cylinders fitted to INPAT. A buyer needs the actual front and controls identified before ordering cylinders or comparing grading functions. The foldable INPAT offered for WX/PX has a separately stated transport width and additional weight; those restrictions should not be applied to every EX blade.

This publication's engine output is 164 kW/219 HP. The Asian brochure uses different rated-output figures, so retain the market and document with the power entry. The European operator seat can turn toward the ripper, and the travel console adjusts independently.

Those are useful inspection points on a machine bought mainly for rear attachment work.
