Choose the blade and ripper before comparing large dozers
The D475A-5E0 illustrates why a power-ranked list cannot identify a complete working arrangement. Komatsu’s CEN00075-04 brochure offers a Semi-U blade and a larger U blade, while dual tilt remains an option. The dual-tilt arrangement lets the operator change the blade’s cutting attitude during the pass.
A photograph showing that equipment does not establish what is fitted to another advertised D475.
Ripping equipment also changes the comparison. The giant single-shank arrangement uses a hydraulically operated pin puller and four depth positions. The multi-shank alternative has three shanks and two depth positions.
Identify the fitted beam, shanks and adjustment mechanism. The same engine rating can accompany either ripper, yet the equipment and intended ripping task differ.
Optional track-shoe slip control regulates engine output during ripping. It is a separate installation from the hydraulic pin puller or a dual-tilt blade. Include the controls in an equipment inspection instead of inferring that package from the large ripper visible behind the tractor.
Source: Komatsu CEN00075-04, blade and ripper options. The European D475A-5 equipment sheet makes a separate distinction: its standard heavy-duty single-grouser shoes are 710 mm wide, while 810 mm and 910 mm shoes appear in the optional list. That sheet also lists track-shoe slip control as an option. A wide-shoe machine and a machine equipped with slip control are therefore separate descriptions.
Check both against the actual undercarriage and controls before using another D475’s ground-pressure or equipment listing.
Quick-charge equipment has its own entries. The European list gives a provision for rapid fuel filling as standard, while oil-and-coolant quick-charge provision appears under options. Inspect the actual connections when planning service access; a fuel-filling fitting does not establish the presence of the other arrangement.

Source ledger: interpreting model evidence
The D21P-6 belongs to the small-dozer comparison
Komatsu’s original operation manual gives the D21P-6 a flywheel rating of 39.5 HP at 2450 rpm. The separate D21P-6B entry is 44.4 HP. The catalogue entry of 4,070 hp conflicts with that documented engine output. It cannot establish the upper end of a working horsepower range.
