These excavators do not share one exhaust-service arrangement

The European PC170LC-10 brochure specifies a diesel oxidation catalyst and explains that this arrangement avoids particulate-filter regeneration. Its closed crankcase ventilation filter is a separate service item: it traps oil mist and returns that oil to the crankcase. An exhaust complaint and a restricted breather therefore concern different parts, even though both appear in discussions of engine emissions.

The same PC170 publication allows attachment flow to be adjusted on the monitor and stores named attachment settings. Check the saved setting when testing a breaker or powered attachment. A flow limit chosen for a previous tool can change the demonstration without establishing a worn pump.

The short-tail PC228 changed its working modes and aftertreatment

The PC228USLC-3E0 brochure lists power, economy, lifting and breaker modes. Its later dash-10 counterpart adds separate attachment-power and attachment-economy selections. Those later modes distinguish two-way attachment work from the breaker setting; do not assume that a monitor from either generation offers the same choices.

The North American dash-10 publication describes a particulate filter with both active and passive regeneration. The operator can initiate or inhibit regeneration according to the work environment. That is a different exhaust arrangement from the PC170 catalyst described above, despite both excavators carrying a dash-10 model suffix.

Its contoured cab fits within the counterweight’s swing envelope. The front work equipment still has its own clearance requirement, and the lifting chart depends on reach, height and machine setup. Short tail swing does not make every boom or load position suitable for the same confined space.

The PC210LC-11 adds a separate DEF system

The Australian and New Zealand PC210LC-11 specification combines a particulate filter with selective catalytic reduction. SCR uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid; it is not the crankcase-ventilation system and does not replace particulate-filter service. Confirm the actual market and emissions label before using these service requirements for an imported machine.

Its specification also separates hydraulic tank refill from total hydraulic-system volume. The tank and complete circuit answer different service questions. A tank drain is not a measurement of every hose, cylinder and component in the circuit.

Use the tank refill quantity for that specific service operation, and the complete-system quantity only when the procedure actually concerns the whole circuit.
